Well, the results are in, thanks to some heavy judicial lifting by
our
Guest Judge Ellen Bryant Voigt. We have, it seems, a tie--the first
year that's happened, but we agree with Ellen. It was too tough a call
to decide between Rachel and Rebecca. And congratulations to NCSU
English senior Robert Greene whose poem got into the finals, thereby
making him the natural winner of the Brenda L. Smart Undergraduate
Poetry Award which goes to the highest esteemed poem from an NC State
undergraduate. If you sent a poem in, we thank you for participating
and
hope you'll give it another shot next year. And please join us, Tuesday
evening, April 7th at 7:30 p.m. in the Caldwell Hall Lounge, for a
presentation of the winners AND a sure-to-be-entertaining poetry reading
from two-time National Book Award nominee Ellen Bryant Voigt. Here
are
the results...
