Graduates of the Master of Science in Technical Communication are working as technical writers and planners, technical editors, communication managers, publication coordinators, software analysts, technical consultants, and documentation specialists. A small percentage are freelancing; several are consulting. Program graduates are doing well in industry with almost 90 percent employed as technical communicators. Others serve in related management positions or have pursued doctoral degrees. Furthermore, they are being employed by companies such as IBM, Glaxo Wellcome, Institute for Biotech Information, Wilson Learning Corporation, Datatel, SAS Institute, Hewlett Packard, Nortel, and Metro Information Services.
