Publishing Intern

Currently, we are looking for an intern to assist us with our two upcoming issues. This will be an unpaid position. And the opportunity aims to give the candidate a holistic view of the day-to-day aspect of publishing. With this internship the candidate can apply for various positions in field of micro-publishing or independent publishing. Responsibilities will include:

- Prooreading and copyediting the submitted stories, poems, and essays
- Maintaining and updating the content of the Obsidian website
- Formatting and preparing the final computer document of the issue for publishing
- Coordinating with the printing agency
- Establishing effective and productive communication channels with current subscribers and interested clients

Required skills for the position:

- High proficiency in English
- Good editing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Word
- Knowledge of HTML and Adobe Dreamweaver (not mandatory, but highly desired)
- Previous experience with a literary magazine will be an added advantage
