Online SubmissionObsidian: Literature in the African Diaspora, a non-profit organization hosted by North Carolina State University, is a semi-annual journal. We publish contemporary poetry, fiction, drama, and non-fiction prose from within, about, and contextualizing the African Diaspora. We encourage you to see our call for papers & submit your work below. Poetry: Poetry should be single-spaced, contain no more than 5 poems and should not exceed 8 pages in length. Please include all poetry submissions in a single file. Fiction and Creative Non-fiction: Entries must be double-spaced with a maximum of 7000 words. Please submit one story at a time and include the word count. Critical Essays: Submissions should be no longer than 20 pages in length and double-spaced.
