LSN 107 Language, Literature, and Science Not your degree plan?
Sum 2'09 requirements The LSN curriculum offers an integrated study of science, math and technology with a focus on English studies.
- All courses satisfying Department Requirements, except ENG 350, must be taken for a letter grade.
- Students must earn at least a C- for courses to count towards their major.
- Although some courses are listed in more than one category, no course may satisfy more than one requirement.
- 200-Level Courses: Students may take no more than five 200-level classes in the major.
- The following courses can satisfy a requirement only when the content is appropriate to that requirement: ENG 394, ENG 420, ENG 460, ENG 491, ENG 497, ENG 539, FL 495.
English-related minors available to LSN majors:
- Creative Writing
- Journalism
- Linguistics
- Technical and Scientific Communication
- Film Studies
- World Literature
- American Literature
One course—and only one—can be counted in both the major and any minor.
- All English majors (BA and BS) must have selected six courses from the English core courses. Students must select one course from each of the six categories (American Literature, British Literature, World Literature, Film, Linguistics, and Rhetoric).

No “D” grades are allowed in ENG 101 (Academic Writing Research) or LSN Concentration Requirements.
In addition to the above requirements, all students must complete the CHASS, GEP, and Free Electives requirements (See GEP requirements). |
