Inter-institutional Registration Program

NC State participates in an Inter-institutional Registration program with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Duke University. Courses offered by North Carolina A and T University and by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte over the Microelectronics Center of North Carolina communications system are also available. Under this agreement, graduate students enrolled at NC State may take courses on these campuses upon the recommendation of their advisory committees.

Graduate students are exclusively under the administrative direction of the North Carolina State University Graduate School, even though they are taking a course on another campus. Enrollment for courses on other campuses takes place on the NC State campus, using special forms obtained from the Office of Registration and Records. The Graduate School considers courses taken on other campuses part of the student's normal load. Grades received under the Inter-institutional Registration will be converted to the NC State University system.
