In October, Susan Miller-Cochran gave two presentations on using a disciplinary approach to teaching academic writing. She hosted a webinar on “Getting Started with a Writing in the Disciplines Approach” for MacMillan Education’s CompEd Week on October 22, and she facilitated a faculty workshop on the same topic at Robeson Community College on October 31.

Jim Knowles and Tim Stinson received a CHASS Scholarship and Research Award to support their work on the Piers Plowman Electronic Archive (http://piers.chass.ncsu.edu/). The award will be used to fund graduate assistant hours and to acquire digital images for the archive.
