Christopher McKenna speaks at conference

On April 10, Christopher McKenna was a featured speaker at the Tenth Annual Southeast Indian Studies Conference at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he delivered a paper entitled “Pembroke Moviegoing,” which analyzed both the forms of spatial segregation in early Native American cinema exhibitions held within several tri-racial communities in Robeson County, NC, as well as the manner through which those forms subverted locally dominant racial hierarchies.
