First-Year Writing Program Student Resources

The Academic Success Center offers Writing Support and other academic support for students, both Undergraduate and Graduate. Students can schedule in-person or online appointments with trained peer consultants to receive help on papers, thesis, dissertations, etc.

NC State Libraries offer multiple services, helpful articles, writing guides
and project tools to assist with the writing and research process.

  with a  librarian to receive help with research.

•  Disability Services for Students supports students eligible and need accommodations.
•  Academic Support Program for Student Athletes provides comprehensive support to student-athletes to help them meet their academic, personal
  and professional goals. 
•  Counseling Center provides individual and group counseling for students experiencing personal, academic, or vocational struggles. 
• The Office of Student Conduct educates students about the policies, rules and regulations that will impact their time at NC State.

The Department of World Languages and Cultures offers international students alternate courses to fulfill their first-year writing requirement. Students can elect to take WLEN 101 (formerly FLE 101) instead of ENG 101 to fulfill their GEP Introduction to Writing requirement.
