Graduate Student Notes for December 2017

NC State’s graduate student chapter of the Rhetoric Society of America has been awarded a 2017–18 Graduate Student Chapter Special Event Award. The chapter, whose current president is Meridith Reed, will bring together rhetoric teachers and scholars from across North Carolina at its Rhetorical Listening for Social Change Unconference, which will be held March 24. The Unconference will provide its student attendees the opportunity to share their research at any stage of development and to receive feedback from faculty. 

On December 15, the Department of English held a graduation ceremony in the Talley Student Union and awarded the following degrees:

• MA in English — David Pruitt and Matthew Sarda
• MFA in Creative Writing — Emilly Chavez
• MS in Technical Communication — Randy Bickford
• PhD in Communication, Rhetoric and Digital Media — Jason Buel, Stephanie Carradini, and Gwendolynne Reid
