Beatrice Ogeh (MFA – Fiction) is the 2025 winner of the MN BIPOC Emerging Writer Award in Flash Fiction for her story “at this ungodly hour.” The story is published in the Blue Earth Review, a literary magazine run by graduate students of the Creative Writing program at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

About the story and writing, Beatrice said “I often write to live an experience I’ve never had. It’s a type of wish fulfillment, and it provides catharsis. Writing ‘at this ungodly hour’ has pushed me to do more things that scare me–without a single deus-ex-machina midnight call. I hope my story does the same for readers!”
