Chen, Khan, and Xie Presented at 8th Annual Symposium in Communicating Complex Information Conference

Our MS Technical Communication students presented their research at the 8^th Annual Symposium in Communicating Complex Information (SCCI) at Louisiana Tech University last month. SCCI 2019 aims to explore how the design and presentation of complex information affect how humans use it. As information complexity arises from the inherent relationships between context, content, and people using the information, SCCI seeks to examine these relationships by exploring how design and content choices influence people’s behavior when they interact with complex information in different contexts. 

Each student presented the following topics:

Jianfen Chen (2^nd year MSTC student) – Detecting Differences in National Ideologies in News Reports on US and China Trade War

Khawar Latif Kahn (2^nd year MSTC student) – Intercultural Communication in Educational Institutions: Content Strategy of Websites of Pakistani Universities

Yeqing Kong (2^nd year CRDM student) & Chenxing Xie (1^st year MSTC student) – A Corpus-assisted Analysis of Academic Job Advertisements in Technical and Professional Communication (TPC)
