Chris McKenna gives presentations

On March 29, Chris McKenna presented “Pembroke Moviegoing: A Study in Tri-racial Identity Negotiation” at the annual conference for the Society for Cinema and Media Studies in Montreal. He presented the paper once again at the HERA Conference in San Francisco on April 11.

Dorianne Laux to give readings, lead workshops

Dorianne Laux will read at Spokane Falls Community College on May 6. On May 8 and 9, she will give a lecture and workshop at Hugo House in Seattle. She and Joseph Millar will give a reading and workshop for the Poetry Society of Virginia on May 15 and 16.

Mary-Kate Hedrick, Award Winner

Mary-Kate Hedrick (first-year MA, Linguistics concentration) has won First Place in NCSU Libraries’ 1st Annual Multimedia Research Contest. The contest promotes research innovations involving visualization and digital media.
